Financial Aid
The Department of Community Services is currently rolling out a new foster parent funding model, where funds will be received biweekly, in advance. This will help make sure caregivers have access to the financial resources they need for the children and youth in their care.
This approach means caregivers will no longer have to prepay for expenses or submit receipts for reimbursement. It will be part of their regular household budget. Foster caregivers can better plan for what’s needed for the children in their care and their unique needs like any other family.
More information will be provided to prospective foster caregivers during information sessions and training.
